NorthWestFEARFest: Edmonton’s dedicated horror fest continues through Sunday, director Guy Lavallee recommending How to Kill Monsters 7 p.m. Friday. “Just read the synopsis, and you know you're in for a good time with this hilariously over the top horror comedy from the UK, as the sole survivor of a blood-drenched massacre must defend a police station from an invasion of monsters from another dimension.” He also pushes Late Night With the Devil 7 p.m. Saturday. “This unheralded Australian film about the 'lost episode' of a 1970s late night talk show is one of the most original, nail-biting, teeth-gnashing, well-made films of 2023, and it might just be my favourite film of the year.” See the full schedule at northwestfest.ca.
