SNAP at 40: Anniversary Showcase: Oh, they do grow up so fast! The Society of Northern Alberta Print-artists (SNAP), is unrolling a series of happenings in the coming weeks, starting with its Anniversary Showcase show. For viewers to ponder, SNAP hung a variety of prints from its archives of thousands of works, all indicative of the era that they were created in. The artist-run centre has also created the SNAP at 40 series of — count ’em — four portfolios of 10 artists each, and the separate Future Forwards portfolio highlights Black artists from Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto — all on sale at the gallery starting Aug. 12.
